This is the seventh year that Cat Country 98.1 and Cardi’s Furniture and Mattresses teamed up for their signature Touch-a-Truck event – and it proved to be the biggest one yet! More than 11,200 individual items were collected for children in need at this free day of family fun. That means thousands of diapers, socks, underwear, and baby wipes will be distributed to our 25 partner agencies to serve families throughout Rhode island.
Hundreds of people flocked to Cardi’s Swansea location for the chance to get an up close look at commercial-size trucks and vehicles including emergency vehicles, disposal trucks, semi-trailers, fire trucks, military vehicles, race cars, a trackless train, and more. The “price” of admission was simply an unopened package of diapers, baby wipes, or children’s socks or underwear. It’s a great event with an even greater benefit for Rhode Island families. We can’t thank our friends at Cat Country and Cardi’s enough for their excellent work.
